Code of conuct
All cleaners employed or contracted by Cimple Cleaning, and all clients utilising Cimple Cleaning services.
1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours to promote a safe, respectful, and professional environment for both cleaners and clients. Breach of any of the terms below may result in immediate termination of services or contract, and, where necessary, legal action
.
2. General Conduct Expectations
2.1. Professionalism

Cleaners must conduct themselves in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner at all times.

Clients are expected to treat cleaners with respect and without discrimination, abuse, or harassment.
2.2. Punctuality and Attendance

Cleaners must arrive on time for scheduled appointments unless prior notice is given to both the client and Cimple Cleaning.

Clients must ensure access to the premises at the agreed-upon time.
3. Cleaner-Specific Code of Conduct
3.1. Smoking, Vaping, and Tobacco Use
Strictly prohibited on the client's premises or near entrances, unless explicitly authorised by the client.
3.2. Eating and Drinking
Permitted only with the client's prior approval or when the duration of the service exceeds four (4) hours, in which case breaks may be scheduled in designated areas.
3.3. Use of Client Property
Cleaners must not use any appliances, electronics, internet access, personal items, or facilities (e.g., shower, television, computer, etc.) unless explicitly instructed by the client as part of the job.
3.4. Playing Music or Media
Personal audio devices or mobile phones may not be used to play music aloud. Headphones may only be used during breaks and not during active cleaning tasks unless authorised by the client.
3.5. Fraternisation
Personal relationships or romantic interactions between cleaners and clients are discouraged and may result in reassignment to avoid conflicts of interest.
3.6. Indecent Comments, Gestures, or Behaviour
Any form of lewd, offensive, or sexually suggestive remarks or actions is strictly prohibited.
3.7. Use of Profanity
Inappropriate language or profanity must not be used under any circumstances while on duty.
3.8. Non-Worker Presence
Cleaners must not bring friends, family members, pets, or other unauthorised individuals onto client premises.
3.9. Illegal Activities
Zero tolerance for any illegal activities, including but not limited to theft, drug use, vandalism, or possession of prohibited items. Police will be contacted if necessary.
3.10. Violence and Threats
Physical altercations, threats of violence, intimidation, or aggressive behaviour will result in immediate termination and police involvement.
3.11. Dress Code
Cleaners must wear appropriate clothing:

Clean and tidy uniform or clothing with company branding.

Closed-toe shoes for safety.

No revealing, offensive, or inappropriate attire.
3.12. Confidentiality

Cleaners must not disclose, photograph, or share any personal, financial, or sensitive information found in the client’s home.

No social media posts related to the client's home, location, or possessions.
3.13. Damage and Breakage
All accidents, breakage, or damage must be reported immediately to Cimple Cleaning and the client. Cleaners may be held liable for damages due to negligence or misconduct.
3.14. Mobile Phone Usage
Phones may only be used for work-related communication during cleaning sessions, except in emergencies.
3.15. Alcohol and Drug Policy
Cleaners must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while on duty. Random drug tests may be conducted if there is a reasonable suspicion.
Client-Specific Code of Conduct
Clients play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, respectful, and professional working environment for cleaners. All clients of Cimple Cleaning are expected to adhere to the following terms:
4.1. Respectful Behaviour

Clients must treat cleaners with dignity, kindness, and professionalism.

Derogatory language, tone, or behaviour that belittles, insults, or intimidates cleaners is strictly prohibited.
4.2. Physical Violence and Threatening Behaviour

Zero tolerance for physical violence, attempted assault, or threatening gestures (e.g., raising a hand, cornering, blocking exits, or intimidation through body language or objects).

Any instance of physical violence or credible threat of harm will result in:

Immediate termination of service

Reporting to law enforcement

Legal action if necessary
4.3. Harassment and Discrimination

Clients must not engage in verbal, physical, or sexual harassment of any kind.

Discriminatory behaviour based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, age, disability, or appearance is forbidden.

Cleaners have the right to leave the premises immediately if harassed or made to feel unsafe.
4.4. Privacy and Personal Boundaries

Clients must not invade the personal space of cleaners or make inappropriate comments about their appearance, clothing, body, or personal life.

Cleaners must be allowed to carry out their tasks without unwelcome supervision, micromanagement, or excessive interference.
4.5. Confidentiality and Consent
Clients must respect the privacy of cleaners:

No photographs or video recordings of cleaners without prior written consent.

If there are security cameras in use, clients must disclose their locations and purposes to Cimple Cleaning and the cleaner.
4.6. Safe Working Environment

Clients are responsible for providing a physically safe environment for cleaners, including:

Secure and stable workspaces (no loose wires, slippery floors, broken furniture)

Adequate ventilation and lighting
-
Access to clean, functioning water and basic hygiene facilities (e.g., bathroom access)
-
Clients must secure all pets during cleaning appointments unless the cleaner agrees otherwise.

Any known hazards (e.g., mould, pests, hazardous chemicals, sharp objects) must be disclosed before the service begins.
4.7. Substance Use

Clients must not be visibly intoxicated or under the influence of drugs while interacting with cleaners.

Cleaners reserve the right to leave the premises immediately if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable due to a client's behaviour related to substance use.
4.8. Sexual Conduct and Inappropriate Advances

No flirtation, sexual remarks, suggestive behaviour, or touching of any kind is permitted.

Any instance of sexual harassment will result in:

Immediate termination of service

Permanent blacklisting from Cimple Cleaning

Notification to law enforcement if necessary
4.9. Payment and Cancellations

Clients are expected to pay on time and through agreed-upon methods.

Cancellations must be made with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Repeated last-minute cancellations or refusal to pay may result in a suspension or termination of services.
4.10. Access to Property

Cleaners must be granted timely and secure access to the premises for the scheduled duration of service.

Clients must not lock cleaners in or out of any area unless for their safety (e.g., pet containment) and with prior explanation.
4.11. False Accusations and Misconduct Reports
Malicious or false accusations against cleaners, especially if motivated by bias, are a serious offence and may result in legal action.
4.12. Non-Fraternisation with Cleaners

Clients are discouraged from pursuing personal or romantic relationships with cleaners to maintain professional boundaries.

Offering gifts or excessive tips outside the norm must be reported to Cimple Cleaning by the cleaner for transparency.
4.13. Third-Party Visitors During Cleaning Appointments

Clients must ensure that other individuals present in the home (e.g., roommates, guests, contractors) also adhere to this code of conduct.

Cleaners are not responsible for monitoring or interacting with guests or third parties in the home.
4.14. Consequences of Breach
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in:

Immediate suspension or permanent termination of service

Placement on a “Do Not Serve” list

Notification of law enforcement in cases of violence, harassment, or illegal activity
-
Legal action in cases involving assault, defamation, or other criminal conduct
